iPhone setup: let bank SMS reach Hisaabo

iPhone apps can't read your messages. A personal automation in Apple's Shortcuts app can: when a bank message arrives, it hands the text to Hisaabo's “Add from SMS” action, which keeps only the payment details and drops the message. It runs even when the phone is locked.

  1. Open Shortcuts → Automation

    Tap New Automation (or + at the top).

  2. Choose “Message”

    Set Message Contains to debited. Later, make a second automation for credited (and one for spent if your card messages say that).

  3. Choose “Run Immediately”

    Turn off Notify When Run if you like, then tap Next.

  4. Add “Add from SMS”

    Search for Hisaabo, choose Add from SMS, and set its Message to Shortcut Input. Tap Done.

Payments added this way show up in your diary the next time you open Hisaabo, and right away in its widgets. A message Hisaabo can't read yet waits under Teach me.

Also with Siri

“Log an expense in Hisaabo”, “How much did I spend this month in Hisaabo”, and “Show my budget in Hisaabo”. Amounts are only spoken on an unlocked iPhone.
